Winter 2011 - 20th February 2011 Autumn 2010 - 11th December 2010 Summer 2010 - 4th August 2010 Spring 2010 - 13th May 2010 Winter 2010 - 18th February 2010 Previous newsletters from 2006 to 2009 Previous newsletters from 2002 to 2005 Welcome to our first Newsletter of the year. We would like to thank all our customers
for bearing with us over the long holiday closure after Xmas. As many of
you know, this is when we take our main holiday - tacked onto the end of
the Xmas Bank Holidays. Next year we will not be closed as long, but we
may be closed for a week in June - a warm weather holiday will be most
welcome
NEW ITEMS This month we have also changed the pack size available in the Pearl Elastic Cords. Previously the Pearl colour was only available in full reels, all sizes (0.5mm, 0.7mm and 1mm) are now available in packs of 3m too. STITCHES TRADE SHOW We always pick up lots of catalogues, so even if you think of something after Tuesday we may be able to check those for you. It is a very long day with lots of walking and talking (and heavy catalogues to carry) but we think it is worth while. Two years ago we found a supplier of Pony Bead lacing which has been one of our most popular lines. We also see all the new Mouseloft Kit Designs (on Craft Kits Website) in the 'flesh' and decide which ones to stock in the following year. Not many of our suppliers have Reps any more so it is the only time we actually meet the people on the other end of the phone. CONTACT DETAILS PAGE CB Forum - We update this every time a new item goes online so it is the quickest way of finding out what is going on. Plus you can post your questions to us or other forum members. We also post important announcements about opening hours etc. CB Guestbook - On our Guestbook you can leave us feedback on the delivery of your order, including how quickly it arrived. If you are new to CB please take a look at the testimonials on there. CB Newsletters - If you have missed a past newsletter you can find them online. CPU Enterprises Blog - News and views from the staff behind Dianne's Knitting Yarns, Craft Bits and Craft Kits, including the story behind CPU Enterprises. CPU Enterprises on Facebook - Basic info on all the CPU websites - we hope to start a page just for CB soon. CB Exit Survey - if you have ordered from us recently then you probably know all about this - it is a basic survey which you can take after you order to let us know how the website performed for you. The results will be available from time to time on the Forum and the Info page. We hope you are happy with the direction we are going in and really do look
forward to hearing from you all by
email or any of the
means above
Webmaster 20.02.11 Sorry this update is quite a bit later
than usual. We have been so busy we just haven't had time to do much
except get the orders out. But as usual at this time of year with just a
couple of weeks till Xmas, trade has dropped enough to give us time to
write this update. Incidentally we have just had our best few months
ever and would like to thank everyone for their custom - we must be
doing something right
We have not had many new items since the last update, but have made a few observations on the direction Craft Bits seems to be going and therefore some decisions on stocks. We sell as many of our items in small packs as we can and will continue to do so as that seems to be what many customers require. We are also selling quite a few larger packs now so will always try to stock those where space allows. To that end we will stop selling some items when the current stocks have gone to allow room for more packs of the most popular items. Those popular items include Eyes, Noses, Bells, Pony Beads, Beading Cords, Magnets, Iron On Motifs, Felt, plus a few other bits and bobs. The items that are 'while stocks last' include Foam Stickers, Transfers, Jewellery Findings (except a few things like Keyrings and Brooch Backs), Aperture Cards & Envelopes, Sequins, Kits and a few others. Most have been noted on the website already. NEW ITEMS As usual - all the following items were noted on the Customer Forum when they went online.
If you want to comment on this or anything else about our Newsletter / website / stock please email us at or add a message on the Customer Forum. HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS & LAST POSTING DATES We have put a link on the Home Page to a list of the last posting dates for Xmas, that info is also on the Forum in the Messages section. We have also put details of our opening hours for over Xmas / New Year Holidays on the Forum and a link to them will be put on the main page shortly. Basically we will be closing at 6pm on Tuesday 21st December 2010 and will fully re-open on Wednesday 12th January 2011 - we will not be open at all between those dates. Opening Hours will be noted in the Shopping Basket during those weeks. As regular customers will know, we have our Annual Holidays just after Xmas as that is the quietest time for our sort of business. This does mean we are not able to send out any orders until we get back, but the Shopping Basket will be open so you can still order at any time. We may have a backlog but hope to get the majority of orders placed over the holidays out on the day we re-open. Last year we got stuck in the snow and did
have to extend the holiday slightly, but we do have internet access
there so will try and keep you up to date on any changes. We will try to
answer emails while we are closed, but it may take a few days if we are
having fun, so please be patient
CRAFT KITS WEBSITE Don't forget that www.craft-kits.co.uk has lots of Pocket Money Kits for kids of all ages plus some great beginner kits. We have put 41 new kits from the Mouseloft Stitchlets Range online since the last Update. There are a good variety of subjects from Wizards to Steam Trains and Meerkats to Pandas. We hope you are happy with the new direction we are going in and really do look forward to hearing from you all - by email, Guestbook or on the Customer Forum. Finally, everyone at Craft Bits, Craft Kits and CPU would like to wish you all good health and prosperity over this holiday time and in the new year. Webmaster 11.12.10 Welcome to our Summer Newsletter. We have just had some of our busiest
months ever with Teddy Eyes,
Jingle Bells and
Iron On Motifs being the
most popular items at the moment. We are also pleased that the new
Felt
Suppliers colours seem to be selling quite well.
Pony Beads continue to
be popular but we have had a problem with our supplier not being able to
keep up with demand. We have managed to get some elsewhere to tide us
over and hope to be fully stocked shortly. One downside of being busy is
that we sell out of some things quickly but don't have time to order
more - we will just have to get more organised
NEW ITEMS Not many new items have been added over the last few months as we have been so busy - plus most of the suppliers bring out new stuff earlier in the year. Some have just brought out their Xmas Lines so we will be checking those out very shortly. We were asked to get a couple more colours in the 3mm Nylon Cord which we duly did - Purple and Wine - available in packs of 3m and on 25m reels. There is a link to a picture of other colours we could get in stock on the Nylon Page, so please take a look and let us know if we don't stock the one you want yet. Iron-on Motifs are getting more and more popular so we have expanded the range again with another 20 going online in the last 2 months. All the new ones were shown on the Customer Forum at the time and there are some nice Adult ones including some lovely dogs & 'green' logos. Unfortunately, some of the ones we didn't think would sell that well (so only brought a couple) were the first to go. We are ordering again very shortly so if there is a design type you think we should include please let us know and we will see if we can get some. COMING SOON We have quite a few other items which we just have not had time to do -
regular readers of the newsletters will recognise most of them
CRAFT KITS WEBSITE Don't forget that www.craft-kits.co.uk has lots of Pocket Money Kits for kids of all ages plus some great beginner kits. The following new items have been put on since the last newsletter.
We will be starting a Facebook Page shortly but you can get some general
info about Craft Bits from the
CPU Enterprises FB Page. In the meantime
you can leave feedback on our service on our
Guestbook page. If you have
feedback or requests for us other than about our service then please use
our Customer Forum or
email us.
04.08.10 Well I hope you are all enjoying our unpredictable Spring weather, it seems to be getting colder rather than warmer
We would like to thank all our customers for bearing with us over the Easter weekend. There were a few technical problems which took most of that 'holiday' weekend to sort out. There is more info on exactly what the problem was on the Forum under Messages. NEW ITEMS We have managed to get back in stock a couple of items that we thought we could not get again. One of the most popular items during the last year was the Pony Bead Lacing. These had been initially brought as a 'Stitches Show' special offer last year and we had assumed the supplier would have sold out by now. But at this years show we asked anyway and they said 'yes we have some left', so we brought some more - we didn't quite get the same deal on all the items but we have left the price the same online. The other big news this Quarter is that we have eventually got the new Felt Supplier sorted and all the new colours are now online. As we have a few different types of Felt now (Plain, Glitter, Self Adhesive, Mixed Packs) it will shortly have its own section on the website rather than being under the 'other items' banner. We also have a few more new Iron On Motifs and Foam Sticker packs in stock plus some new sizes and colours in Jingle Bells. As usual - all these items were noted on the Customer Forum - full list below.
If you want to comment on this or anything else about our Newsletter / website / stock please email us at or add a message on the Customer Forum. OPENING HOURS At this time of year there are a lot of Bank Holidays and we try to keep the opening hours up to date in the Shopping Basket. We also note opening hours in the forum as early as we can. Occasionally we do also have unforeseen circumstances when we have to alter opening hours, so do please check the Basket link on the website for the most up to date info before phoning. Remember - the quickest way to get an answer is to email us - we check emails all the time and answer them as quickly as we can. CRAFT KITS WEBSITE The following new items have been put on the CPU Craft Kits website (www.craft-kits.co.uk ) since the last newsletter.
There are a few more kits to come so please keep an eye on the site. We hope you are happy with the direction we are going in and really do look forward to hearing from you all - by email, Guestbook or on the Customer Forum. Webmaster 13.05.10 Welcome to our Winter Newsletter - and it
certainly feels like winter as I write this. It has been snowing all day
and we have a thick covering over everything now. Yes it looks wonderful
..... but we just got our Gas Bill :-( NEW ITEMS The
Iron-on Motifs page we put online a
while ago have had new designs added quite often - these are always
great for jazzing up old clothes. We also now have some
Letters online
too. They come in Pink or Black and you can buy whichever colour or
letters you like to make up your own designs. At 2.8cm (just over one
inch) they are the perfect size for adding to tee-shirts etc. A full list of all the new items are below, they were all noted on the Customer Forum when they went online.
COMING SOON We have quite a few other items which we just have not had time to do. Because the website is done in-house it does take time to hand code the pages and get the pictures right. The following items will be online as soon as we can.
CRAFT BITS GUESTBOOK We had been asked in the Exit Page Survey for a Guestbook so you can give us feedback about our service and let us know you received your parcel. We set one up a little while ago and it seems to be working well. It can be found HERE, plus there is a link in the 'parcel sent' email we send out, on the Info Page on our website and there is also a link when you click the Forum link. You do not need to add your email address, or even your full name, but please state your order number so we know which parcel you received. If you have feedback or requests for us other than about our service then please use our Customer Forum or email us. CRAFT KITS WEBSITE Don't forget that www.craft-kits.co.uk has lots of Pocket Money Kits for kids of all ages plus some great beginner kits. We have a long list of items which we received 2 days before Xmas but just haven't had time to put online. If you are interested in any of the following please let us know and we will move it to the top of the 'to do' list.
If you want to comment on anything in this Newsletter or anything else about our website / stock please email us at or add a message on the Customer Forum - we really do look forward to hearing from you all. Webmaster 18.02.10
