There are also 5 new colours in the 9x6 Opaque and 2 in the 9x6 Clear. We are still hopeful that we will eventually be able to get some brown ones - fingers crossed. There will also be some metallic gold and silver ones online very shortly - but they do work out more expensive because of the extra coating process they go through. Someone on the Customer Forum asked about Brooch Backs - we had been thinking of expanding into Jewellery Findings etc. for some time (it's where I started!) so decided to look into it. We now have 3 different sizes in both Gold and Silver colours, along with some Necklace Clasps & Tags, in various pack sizes on the website. As usual - all these items were noted on the Customer Forum when they went online - full list below. We also note on the Forum what new items are coming soon. We are still looking at what other different type of Jewellery Findings you want us to stock. There is a poll where you can give your opinion - Please Click HERE.
If you want to comment on this or anything else about our website or stock please email us at or add a message on the Customer Forum. CRAFT KITS WEBSITE Don't forget that the office and warehouse are closed all Bank Holidays (i.e. Easter) but the websites and shopping Baskets are open 24/7. We hope you are happy with the direction we are going in and really do look forward to hearing from you all - by email or on the Customer Forum. Webmaster 20.03.08 NEW ITEMS
There is a link to a list of all the Xmas type items on the main page of the website - or click HERE - there is still time to get that last minute stocking filler. If you want to comment on this or anything else about our website or stock please email us at or add a message on the Customer Forum. HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS WEBSITE UPDATES CRAFT KITS WEBSITE CRAFT BITS CUSTOMER FORUM We hope you are happy with the direction we are going in and really do look forward to hearing from you all - by email or on the Customer Forum. Finally, everyone at Craft Bits, Craft Kits and CPU would like to wish you all good health and prosperity over this holiday time and in the new year. Webmaster 09.12.07 Teddy and Cats eyes are one of our biggest sellers (along with Pony Beads) so we are really pleased that we can now supply more sizes in the Teddy eyes and a new colour in the Cats eyes. Whisker noses and Cats noses which had previously been 'While Stocks Last' or sold out are now back in stock. We hope we can put them all online in the larger packs sizes too - but we need to make a bit of room first (see 'Craft Kits Website' further down this email). NEW ITEMS A few new items have been added since the Last Newsletter - they were noted on the Customer Forum when they went online - full list below.
NON-UK ORDERS Royal Mail are changing the way they bill us for Non-UK Postage. From Saturday 1st September we have to get up to a minimum postage price per collection. That minimum price is quite low so it should not be a problem but occasionally it may mean we can't post Non-UK orders until we have a few to send at the same time. However next year they are putting the minimum up by 400% so this will delay Non-UK orders. We have changed the terms and conditions to reflect this delay. This only affects Non-UK orders - normal UK parcels will still be sent as quickly as we do now. CRAFT KITS WEBSITE Over the next 2 months all the 'Kits' will be removed from the Craft Bits website - we would like the CB site to be just 'Bits'. There will be links on the CB pages to the new Craft Kits website. We know this may be an inconvenience to some customers but we hope the new kits and lower prices on the new site will compensate. One of the reasons we are splitting the sites is the Royal Mail postage rules which started in April. Another reason is that kits are easier to pick and will be transferred to the DKY Warehouse, which will leave the CB staff more time to deal with the counting of beads and eyes etc. It will also free up quite a bit of space so we can get more packs of the Teddy eyes in stock - then we can sell them in the larger packs sizes. If you want to comment on this or anything else about our website or stock please email us at or add a message on the Customer Forum. Don't forget that all previous Newsletters are now available online - please click HERE. We hope you are happy with the direction we are going in and really do look forward to hearing from you all - by email or on the Customer Forum. Webmaster 14.09.07 The biggest change in the last few months has been the Forum. It stopped working and despite the effort of 3 different 'experts' we have not been able to get it fixed, although we are still trying. Life without a forum was not good, so we bit the bullet and set up a new forum. We managed to move all the members across but have not been able to add the old posts - I know some members are upset about that. However the new forum has some nice features including Members Polls and you can still view the old forum - you just can't post. NEW ITEMS A few new items have been added since the Last Newsletter - they were noted on the Customer Forum when they went online - full list below. COMING SOON We are hoping to get the following in stock shortly.
NEW WEBSITE The new CPU Enterprises website - www.craft-kits.co.uk is going strong and lots of new kits have just been added. The Daisy Designs Cross Stitch Kits will only be available on the Craft Kits site - they will not be added to the Craft Bits site. We will also be removing all the kits from the Craft Bits site eventually so that website is just for craft components. There are also lots of Mouseloft Kits coming soon to the Craft Kits site - these are great little Pocket Money Kits - some as low as 99p. A new section has been added to the Craft Bits Forum to update you about Craft Kits stock. Webmaster 05.07.07 NEW ITEMS A few new items have been added since the Last Newsletter - they were noted on the Customer Forum when they went online - full list below. COMING SOON We are hoping to get the following in stock shortly.
TEDDY EYES Along with Cats eyes, these are one of our most popular lines. Unfortunately most of the manufacturering seems to have stopped. We have been buying up as many as we can from all our suppliers but they are quickly running out. New suppliers are currently being investigated - more info as soon as we can. FORUM We have added a new feature to the forum for members. We will be adding various Voting Polls over the following months. They can be found at the bottom of the forum page after you have logged. If you are still having problems logging on please let us know. NEW WEBSITE CPU Enterprises have added a new website - www.craft-kits.co.uk. As the name would suggest it will be full of Craft Kits. Most of the kits already on the DKY site and the Craft Bits site are on the new site. But more importantly - there will be lots of new ones coming in April/May. We have decided to concentrate on Children and Beginner kits to start with - mainly in Cross Stitch, Long Stitch and Tapestry. We will be adding a new section to the Craft Bits forum to inform you when the new stock comes in. Webmaster 30.03.07 NEW ITEMS Quite a few new items have been added since the Last Newsletter - they were noted on the Customer Forum when they went online - full list below. Many of them are Kits and Stocking Fillers which would be perfect for last minute Xmas presents.
DISCONTINUED ITEMS In order to ring the changes we are discontinuing quite a few items - most are already noted as 'While Stocks Last' and the rest will be shortly. Some of the New Stock shown above is also 'While Stocks Last' as we brought them from our suppliers discontinued stock - the prices reflect this. Where we can we have put the number of packs we have left on the WebPage or a link to another page (Teddy & Cats eyes). Please remember that the pages do not update automatically - they are changed as soon as we see the item has gone. It is a good idea to refresh your browser page just in case you have an old page and the number of items have changed. If an item has sold out we will email you as soon as we can. WEBSITE PROBLEMS A few months ago we had some problems with the website and was not able to update it for long periods of time. We have moved most of the pages to a new hoster (under the CPU Enterprises site) and things have improved. This means you may occasionally get a page opening in a new window when they shouldn't and you will sometimes see www.cpu-enterprises.com/craftbits/... in the URL window instead of www.craftbits.co.uk. If you find any problems please let us know - it is difficult to check the site under all possible conditions so feedback is always welcome. HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS Full details are on the Customer Forum and on the Main Page of the website. We will again be closed for 2 weeks to allow us all to re-charge our batteries for 2007. The website will not be updated, orders will not be despatched and emails may not be answered. I do keep an eye on emails and answer any urgent ones but it might take a couple of days. The shopping basket will still be active and you can place orders at any time while we are closed but you will not be able to phone your card details - this will be noted in the shopping basket. ROYAL MAIL The new Royal Mail Pricing in Proportion System has had a major effect on our postage costs as many of our items are lightweight but bulky. We have had to put the price for small orders up to £1 and put up the limit where postage becomes free to £8. We did see a slight drop in orders when we did this but that time did coincide with when we had problems with the website (see above) so it may have been that. You may find your parcel is packed slightly strangely to try and get it to go through the new 25mm slot. Many of the smaller items would pass through the slot to get the cheaper postage rate if we did not bubble wrap them. However, as this is more likely to cause breakages when the thinner parcels go through the Royal Mail machinery, we will continue to wrap items and pay the extra postage. We are sorry for any inconvenience any of this may cause and hope you understand the reasons behind it. Everyone at Craft Bits would like to wish you every happiness during this holiday time and a prosperous New Year. Webmaster 10.12.06 Summer/Autumn 2006 - Newsletter Once again we start with an apology for sending out a late Newsletter - however this time we are not just a couple of weeks late but a couple of months. Time just seems to run away and we really don't know where it has gone !! NEW AND DISCONTINUED Quite a few new items have been added since the Spring Newsletter - they were noted on the Customer Forum when they went online - full list below. We were hoping to continue supplying Polystyrene Shapes with a 3 week delay but have found this impossible to put into practice. Therefore we have reluctantly had to discontinue them altogether - there are a few left but when they have gone we will not be able to get any more. Some colours of Safety Teddy and Cats eyes have been discontinued. The main manufacturer went out of business quite some time ago, we had been buying as many as we could but we have now run out of suppliers to try. We have put a list of the number of pairs we have left on the website which we will try and keep as up to date as possible. ROYAL MAIL The new Royal Mail Pricing in Proportion System is going to have a major effect on our postage costs when it starts on 21st August 2006. We have been 'testing' the new prices over the last few weeks and have had a bit of a shock. Every day during the last 3 weeks our postage would have gone up if the new system had been in place - the increase ranged from 4% to 81% and averages out at about 43%. Unfortunately it is not a case of just increasing all prices or putting up the under £5 p&p charge (currently 75p). Large but light items are the main problem but if those items are part of a bigger and heavier parcel the effect is decreased. We really are at a loss as to what to do to be fair to all customers. You may find your parcel is packed slightly strangely to try and get it to go through the new 25mm slot. Many of the smaller items would pass through the slot to get the cheaper postage rate if we did not bubble wrap them - however this is more likely to cause breakages when the thinner parcels go through the Royal Mail machinery. We are sure you can see our dilemma and if anyone has any views on this or suggestions as to what you, the customer, will accept please let us know. If you want to comment on this or anything else about our website or stock please email us at or add a message on the Customer Forum. NEW STOCK ADDED
